President's Report
Atherton golf course was in great condition having not had anywhere near the amount of rain we had on the coast. The ball sat up well on the fairways, you could find the ball in the rough & the greens were running true, so congratulations to the greens staff.
The weather was fine & not too hot with rain holding off considerately until the last groups were in! Thanks to Owen & Debbie for looking after us well as usual & to the club for sponsoring the event. Expressions of appreciation were heard about the sandwiches which all disappeared.
We had a reasonable rollup for the time of year of 82 players. Welcome to visitor Gary Windle of Caboolture & to new members Drew Studham of Atherton & Gary Tudehope of Cairns. This brings our membership to 202 for the 2012 year.
If you are looking for a game next week, the Tablelands Summer of Golf has an event at Mareeba on Tuesday 13th March with the same sign-on time of between 7 & 8am.
