Today was another stableford round to
count toward our ongoing Ted Thomasson Trophy. A field of 77 men and
19 ladies entered at Half Moon Bay and among those we welcomed new
members Alan Moloney of RAAF Williamtown and Russell Wicks of
Mareeba.
The sponsor today was GOLF WORLD OF
CAIRNS and we were pleased to
have Bob Westerman join the field as their representative. I hope
that our members support the businesses that make our club viable
whenever possible.
I played at the
rear of the field today and was disappointed at the number of spike
scuffs on the greens, particularly around the cup, so please golfers,
if you do happen to drag your foot, tap the marks down for those
coming behind. There was a pair of prescription sunglasses found on
the course today so the owner can get them next week or contact me on
40394928.
Today is the last
time we will see captain Russ Gill for 6 weeks as he is off swanning
around the USA but we are lucky to have vice captain Wal Anthony
standing in most weeks. Have a great trip Russ.
