The course was in good condition ,no rain, bit windy though.

SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS - ATHERTON GOLF CLUB - TUESDAY, 21st JUNE, 2022.

Hi Members,

 Today we played a 2 Ball Ambrose  at Atherton Golf Club - 73 players took part - 52 Men and 11 Ladies.We welcomed 1 new member today - Robert Mills from Innisfail - we hope he enjoyed the day. Despite the cold wind and the frequent scattered showers throughout the round, it was an enjoyable day.

  The golf course was in excellent condition - Carl and his team need to be commended for their work. We also noticed quite a few improvements since our last visit.  Thank you also to Cheryl and Irish who are always so helpful and make us feel very welcome.

Our sponsor today was Chiropractic Works on Sheridan St, Cairns. Today was the 1st time they had sponsored the Vets and we thank them for their support. I highly recommend Nathan and his team as they have kept me pain free and upright so I can walk the golf courses we play at. 

Next  Tuesday, our game is at Half Moon Bay Golf Course. See you there!

SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS - CAIRNS GOLF CLUB - 14 th JUNE, 2022

  Today we played a Stableford round at Cairns Golf Club - we had 103 players; 22 Ladies and 81 Men. We welcomed 4 new members ; Lance and Rhoda Pedrana; Ian Tracey; Steven Pawliw. Lovely to see that Margaret and Tom Finch have aslo returned for their yearly visit.

Our sponsor today was Cairns Golf Club  and we thank Matt very much for his support of the FNQVGA. We also wish to thank Brie and Evie in the Pro Shop for their help and Chloe and the bar staff for making the lunches, coffee and drinks throughout the day.

Tim and his ground staff have done a great job on the course even with the irrigation scheme being installed. There might be some lumps and bumps around  the course but it will certainly be worth it in the future.

We are organising a raffle to raise some funds for our championships this year.As from next Tuesday, we will be selling tickets and a list of the prizes will be on the desk at the front. Please see Russ, Peter or Bill to purchase them. The tickets will be $2 each or 3 for $5.

Next week's game is at Atherton and it will be a 2 ball Ambrose. Don't worry if you don't have a partner, we will organise one for you.See you there.

SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS -MAREEBA G.C. - 7th JUNE, 2022

 Hi Members,

 Today we played a Stableford round at Mareeba Golf Club - 66 members  - 13 Ladies and 53 Men took part.  Welcome to 2 new members - Sheryl Haworth from Cairns G.C.and Terry Kelly from Woodford G.C. - we hope they enjoyed the day.

The course was in excellent condition so we didn't have any excuses for bad golf ! Thanks to Michael and his band of volunteers for their effort. Thank you to Wendy who always takes very good care of us.

Just a reminder - If you order a buggy and do not intend to play on that day, can you make sure that you ring and cancel it. We had 4 buggies that were ordered and not used today and there were members who would have played if one was available.

Our sponsor today was Drummond Golf - their support of FNQVGA is very much appreciated and has been for quite a few years. Please don't hesitate to call in and see them if you have any golfing needs.

On a very sad note:  A past committee member and valued friend of the Vets, John Everall passed away last weekend after a battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with Chris, his wife, and family at this sad time.
