On a fresh but perfectly clear morning the FNQVGA moved to Atherton to play a very enjoyable 2 Ball Ambrose sponsored by Cazalys, Cairns. 40 players (37men and 3 ladies) played in two divisions of Mens and Mixed.
A big thank you to the Atherton Golf Club which as usual was very welcoming: to the ever smiling Cheryl for her great sandwiches and cold refreshments: to Dave "Irish" Hazlett who was still cheerful even after his fellow Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy had thrown the US Open away the day before: to Stevie , Brendan and all their volunteers who had the course looking in striking condition.
We had 4 new members loin today, Ken Phillips from Lismore, Al Clarke from Half Moon Bay and Chris De Mamiel and John Dunne from Atherton. Welcome all.
