President's Report & Results Mareeba 31 Mar

73 men and 19 women played a stableford event at Mareeba which was sponsored by
TGT hardware and timber of Mareeba who supplied store vouchers for the winners and runners/up.

While the results were being calculated by the captain, those present were treated to a brief talk and Q and A session by our member Peter Yelland regarding the tragic crash of an Airbus A320 last week. Peter has had many years experience as an airline pilot flying these aircraft and I am sure that those present came home a little better informed. Thanks Peter.

I would like to remind all members that vets is now weekly and we will be at Gordonvale on the 7th of April.

Regards,
Roger

Next Game Half Moon Bay 17 Mar

All,

Our game next Tuesday is a single stableford at Half Moon Bay, sponsored by Health & Fitness Solutions.

I'm advised that if there is no rain on Sunday the full course should be open, but in any event the inner 9 will be playable (assuming the cyclone continues to head out to sea).  Whether the bunkers are in play will depend on weather of course, so subject to a last minute decision.

See you there.

President's Report & Results Atherton 3 Mar

Today the vets played a 4ball better ball stroke at Atherton and the course was in perfect condition, for which we thank the Atherton Golf Club.

We held a 4bbb to change the tedium of single stableford week in and week out and I would be happy to hear your feedback on this.

The sponsor for the day was Drummond Golf and we thank them for the vouchers that the winners received. I must remind members that vets membership allows you to become a lifetime member of the Drummond Club for $10 (usually about $40). This entitles you to discounts on purchases at the store which quickly repay your joining fee as well as more benefits like golf discounts at other courses and entry into Drummond golf events.

Today's event attracted a field of 55 men and 10 ladies including visitors; Ross Ellen and Stuart Schroter.
