SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS - HALF MOON BAY G.C. - Monday, 31/10/22

 Hi Members,

Today we played at Half Moon Bay Golf  Club  on Monday - we do this so that members are able to celebrate the Melbourne Cup if they wish. There were 60 players who participated - 48 men and 12 ladies. We welcomed 2 new members today -Doug Newitt ( a member at Half Moon Bay) and Lino Polo from Morwell Golf Club. We hope you enjoyed your game.

It was a very hot day with very little breeze - fluids were a priority today and everyone survived.

The course was in very good condition - the greens were very green and lush - some felt they were slow - it depends what you experience  at your home course. Thanks to Grant (greenkeeper) and his crew. Thanks also to Daniel who provided members with their carts in the morning and also Steve who was at the bar when we came in at the end.

Our Winner and Runner- ups today received vouchers from Drummond Golf. Thanks to Darren and his staff for sponsoring once again.

Next week we play at Atherton - we hope to see you there.

SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS - CAIRNS G.C. - 25/10/2022

 Hi Members,

Today we played a Stableford round at Cairns Golf Club - 89 players took part - 70 Men and !9 Ladies. We welcomed 3 new members today - Irma Morzone; Greg Moule and Andrew Ballagh. We hope they had an enjoyable day and we look forward to seeing them at future games.

The weather was hot and very humid - fortunately we had a breeze which helped and made the day more pleasant.  The course is in great conditon - thanks to Tim and his wonderful team. It is certainly recovering well after the irrigation work. Thanks to Chloe and the bar staff for the food and drinks.  Anton and Josh for getting us sorted with carts.

Our sponsor today was Reef Casino  and we thank them for their continued support of the FNQVGA.  They have also agreed to sponsor us for the 2023 season which is great.

*******Please remember that we are playing on MONDAY next week at Half Moon Bay due to the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday.********* We hope to see you there..

SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS - GORDONVALE G.C. - 18/10/2022

 Hi Members.

 Today we played a Stableford round at Gordonvale G.C. - 68 members took part - 56 Men and 12 Ladies.  The fairways were very dry and the ditches were mown down which meant there was a lot of run - the scores certainly reflected this. The greens were green and in very good condition so obviously there has been a concentrated effort on them.

We would like to thank Samantha and Peter Walters for their early start -  getting the carts out  ready for the players; providing coffee///tea  and selling drinks after the game.  Thank also to the ground staff for the condition of  the course.

Our Sponsor today was Brothers Leagues Club and thank you so much for your continued support - it is greatly appreciated by the members.

Next week our game is at CAIRNS G.C. -hope to see you there.

SECRETARY'S REPORT & RESULTS - ATHERTON 11/10/2022

 Hi Members,

Today we played a Stableford round at Atherton Golf Club - there were 63 players who participated - 48 Men and 15 Ladies. The weather was perfect  and the course  was in great condition.

Our Sponsor today was Drummond Golf who have been loyal supporters of the Vets for a number of years now. If you need any golf gear, please talk to Darren and Georgia -  I am sure they will help you with the best price.

We would like to thank Cheryl and Russell for being there at 6.30 am  to help us with carts, food orders, and coffee// tea etc. Also thanks to Carl and his ground staff for the excellent condition of the course.We are also impressed with the improvements that are happening.

We have to notify members of a  program date change and we apologise for the late notice but we only found out a few days ago . Due to a plumbing problem at Half Moon Bay golf course and as a reult  they could only open 9 holes for us so we made a change.

25/10 - CAIRNS  ( instead of HMB)

31/10-  MONDAY ( pre Melb Cup)  - HALF MOON BAY

Good News:

 Also Half Moon Bay will be charging $32 per cart from now on.

SECRETARY"S REPORT & RESULTS - CAIRNS G.C - 4th OCTOBER, 2022

 Hi Members,

Due to a glitch, our President, Bill Matthews  was unable to do the report on the blog today. Our game today was a Stableford round held at Cairns G.C. . We had 90 members take part - 73 Men and 17 ladies.. 

Despite a drizzly start today, the weather cleared and everyone completed their round dry. We hope you enjoyed the course and the scores reflected this.

Our Sponsor today was Cazaly's AFL and we really appreciate their sponsorship over the past years. We hope that you will support them with a meal or visit if you are able.

We also need to thank Chloe and her staff for setting up for us and providing coffee, drinks and food for us today. Thank you also to Tim and his ground staff for the excellent condition of the course following the irrigation system being completed. Thank you Josh and the pro shop for getting our members with their carts for the day,
