Hi golfers,
Our game on Tuesday is at Cairns and is a stableford event for the Ted Thomasson trophy. I had the pleasure of a game at Cairns last Friday and can testify that the course is excellent.

President's Report & Results Half Moon Bay 27 June
Today we were elated to have 121 players for our stableford event at Half Moon Bay, this is easily our largest field for the season so far so the bar is set very high for Cairns next Tuesday. There were 98 men and 23 ladies and this included 10 new members from as far away as Green Beach inTasmania, Yallourn in Victoria, Charlestown, Cobram Barooga, Fox Hills, Kooralbyn Valley and right here at Half Moon Bay. With this little influx our membership has risen to 205 so far this year.
Our thanks go to Half Moon Bay club for making the course available to us and also for donating a carton of beer for a free raffle. The winner was Edna Atkinson so George will be pickled for several days. Thanks also to Mike and Gordon for cooking the hamburgers, I am told they sold out!!
The sponsor today was DRUMMOND GOLF OF CAIRNS and, once again I wish to convey my thanks to them for the vouchers and I hope our members will remember to support those businesses who keep our club viable.

Next Game Gordonvale 20 June
All,
Our next game is a single stableford Consistency event at Gordonvale, sponsored by Drummond Golf Cairns.
The course should be in great condition as it is hosting the Lord Mayor's Charity day on 16 June & the second rounds of its own Championships on 17/18 June.
However, as usual the drains are places to be avoided! There is still some water in places & the rough on the banks, although mown where possible, is quite thick.
See you there.
Louis
PS Lois is taking orders for club shirts at registration over the next couple of weeks, so if you want a quality shirt for a very reasonable $35 (slightly more for long sleeves), please see her. She has some samples you can view.
PPS If you're not golfed out, you may wish to play in the Mareeba vets Open on 7 July. You can book and pay at manager@mareebagolfclub.com.au.

of our members, can recommend the dining at Cazalys.
The course at
Atherton lived up to the claim that it is the best it has ever been,
the greens being true and quite fast with downhill puts well and
truly sorting the men from the boys!! We must thank the staff and
volunteers who prepare the course as well as Owen and Deborah for
their hospitality in the clubhouse.

Next Game Atherton 6 June
All,
Our next game is a single stableford Consistency event at Atherton.
The game is sponsored by Cazalys AFL.
I'm told the course is in the best condition it's ever been in, & as it was pretty good the last time we were there, we're in for a treat.

PS We have been advised by Savannah Lifestyle Resorts that they will no longer continue to sponsor the Savannah Cup. As we have a full program of comps, & as the calculations relating to the points system are time consuming, we have decided to discontinue that competition.
