It is a well known meteorological phenomenon, that if it is coming down in buckets on the coast then there are probably just ordinary intermittent busts of sunshine in Mareeba on an otherwise cloudy day. And that's how it was at the Mareeba Golf Club this morning when 57 FNQVGA golfers (49 men and 8 ladies) played a single Stableford for Consistency XIII. As we have come to expect the course was in great condition not least due to the work Greens Superintendent Karl has put in over the last 4 years. Unfortunately this week was Karl's last in Mareeba, their loss will be the Mirage Country Club's gain and we wish Karl all the best in the next phase of his career. Karl has been ably supported by an eager crew of volunteers- commonly known as Dad's Army plus Enid!
Good news is, the Mareeba Club in upgrading and expanding its Golf Cart fleet in the near future, so all Vets players will be catered for when we next return to Mareeba.
