A great field of 56 jolly FNQVGA golfers (45 Men and 11 Ladies) had a most enjoyable mornings golf at the Mossman Golf Club on beautiful Newell Beach this morning. Speed of play: Just remember that the correct position of your group is directly behind the group in front of you not directly in front of the group behind you.

How can you improve speed of play?

  • be ready to play when it is your turn to play, especially on the greens.
  • park you buggy around the green where you will be exiting green , and going to next tee. Don't park in front of green.
  • be attentive where your playing partners shot has gone- decreases time looking for balls.
  • pick up if you cant score on a hole.
  • have a positive attitude.

RESULTS CAIRNS TUESDAY 28 APRL 2026

A great field of 81 FNQVGA golfers (61 men and 20 ladies) almost got caught on a sticky wicket at the Cairns Golf Club this morning but the sun came out long enough for some great scores to be returned, especially in the ladies. Thanks to everyone involved in making the morning a great success.

We had one new member today Andrew Jackson from Gordonvale Golf Club- welcome aboard.

A rainbow is an optical phenomenon formed by the refraction, internal reflection, and dispersion of sunlight within airborne water droplets, such as rain or mist.A perfect example of this formed over the 5th Green this morning and sent some golfers looking for the elusive pot of gold.

Thanks to our major sponsor for today Drummond Golf cairns.

RESULTS MAREEBA TUESDAY 14 APRIL

As promised, the Mareeba Golf Course provided more of a challenge that we have had all year this morning when 51 FNQVGA golfers (41 men and 10 ladies) played the third round of the 2026 Consistency series. Gone were the preferred lies we have played all year. The greens were hard and fast in preparation for the Steggles Mareeba Open this weekend, and the rough was suitably punishing for errant drives and approaches. Thank you to Brian in the clubhouse for helping us get started. And an even bigger thank you to the Mareeba Superintendent and his band of merry men for preparing the course.

Our generous sponsors Elements Air and Refrigeration are to be thanked as well.

Next week we move to the coast to play a 2Ball Ambrose at Half Moon Bay , get yourself a partner for the 7am tee off.
