All,
As the President is swanning around NSW for the next couple of weeks with a few others who are gamely representing our region in the National Championships at Port Macquarie, it falls on me to present a report. May they avoid all trees and water and bring back plenty of prizes.
Mareeba turned on great weather for the game today, as was indicated by the turnout of 103 players.
The greenkeeper is to be congratulated on the fine condition of the course, apart from a few trees being in the wrong place!
The scores reflected the course condition and the winners benefitted from prizes supplied by Drummond Golf who sponsored the event.
We welcomed two visitors from Coomella in NSW, Molly & Buster Krause and a new member, Lloyd Gilbert from Half Moon Bay Golf Club.
Our Treasurer is eagerly accepting subscriptions for 2011. Please present your Membership card for validation when paying.
We have FNQVGA shirts in various sizes available at $30 for short sleeves & $35 for long.
Also, we have had a quote for nametags since several people have suggested they would be a good idea. Please let me know if you want one. The cost is $7.
Next games are at Cairns on 16th November and Babinda on 23rd November, both Single Stableford, with the latter being the second round of the Patron's Trophy.
Hope to see you there.
Cheers,
Lou Siedle
