Veteran Golfers
Mareeba Golf Club presented us with a excellent groomed course for our Single Stableford Event.
The event was sponsored by TGT Hardware, Mareeba, thank you for your continued sponsorship.
54 players paid attention to the often talked about subject that “It doesn’t rain in Mareeba”. Early golfers from the coast were caught up in traffic caused by a tree falling across the road on Kuranda Range. Cars were allowed through because they could fit under the fallen tree. But to add to the woes there was some heavy rain at the time.
Mareeba stayed true to its word with just a very light misty shower.
Today was the first round of the 9 rounds of Golf for the Drummond Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0 Driver. A leader ladder will start to be published after the 3rdRound. Remember every game until the 31st May 2011 is included in this competition, you must play at least 6 games, the winner is the best aggregate score over six of the nine games
The wet weather is continuing to cause each weekly game to be managed. Next week 12th April we are scheduled to play at Mossman Golf Club. I am speaking with the officials from the Club, they are predicting we may be playing a composite 9 hole course, which we will play twice. It is rated so the players can be handicapped. I will keep you informed by email and the blog when we hear the final decision. Please don’t be put off because it may be a composite course, come up and enjoy what is presented to us.
Regards
Ross Bird
