President's Message 26th July 2011

Veteran Golfers

Cairns Golf Club are preparing for their City of Cairns Tournament next week and we experienced  the course in its best condition.  The greens were very fast with some tricky pin placements, while the Tees were a little forward, it made for a good days golf. Thank you Cairns Golf Club for the effort put in to prepare the course for us.

There were 159 players, our highest number of players this year, thank you for your attendance.

Golf World, Mulgrave Rd., Cairns were the sponsors for today, they donated very good prizes for the winners and balls for the rundown. Thank you Fabian at Golf World for your continued support.

Our next game is at Gordonvale Golf Club on Tuesday 2^nd August, it is a Single Stableford. Tuesday 9^th August is the 1^st Round of the Championships at Mareeba Golf Club, it is a Stroke event followed by the second round of the Championships on Tuesday 16^th August at Half Moon Bay Golf Club which is also a Stroke Event. For conditions to be eligible to win the 36 Hole Championship refer to the Back Page of the 2011 Program.

The Stanton Bailey Shield is contested over the two rounds of the Championships, plus a third stroke round which will be played at Atherton Golf Club on Tuesday 23^rdAugust.
