A small group of 33 players traveled to Mareeba this morning to contest an 18 Hole Stableford competition for men and ladies Veteran Golfers. Yes, it was hot,but not too hot; the forecast was for possible thunderstorms, and a small disturbance did roll across he course for two minutes, but all-in-all it was playable if testing.
A big 'thank you' to our major sponsor this year Drummond Golf for helping to promote veteran golfers in Far North Queensland. Thank you to Darren Golder and his team in Cairns.
Mareeba Golf Club was very welcoming as usual, thanks go to Club President Owen and Vice-President Debbie.
The greens keeper Karl and his band of workers Jim and Rod had done their best in the limited amount of time available to prepare the course which has had almost 1200mm of rain in the last two months. Good work fellas.
