President's
Report
49
men & 18 ladies turned up at Babinda on a beautiful day for a
Patron's Trophy event. As there were under 60 men, there was only
one division awarded for them & one for the ladies.
The
course was in good condition with plenty of run on the fairways which
brought drains into play if you were trying to lay up short of them.
It is certainly a different course than when it is wet.
Congratulations to the volunteers who maintain the course.
Thanks
to Di Diversi who printed off a bundle of measurements to the
drains. Thanks also to Wal Anthony for putting out the NTPs for us &
to Tom Stager for supplying a bucket of balls to make up for those
which ended up in the drains!
Thanks
to the ladies for looking after us with cakes & sandwiches as
well as manning the bar at the club. We sponsored the day as Colin
was unable to pick up the vouchers from Masters, but we hope they
will sponsor another day instead.
Welcome
to visitors Ray Smith of Babinda, whose local knowledge paid
dividends with a win!
Next
game is at Cairns on 15 Oct, which is a 4BBB Stroke round.
