PRESIDENT REPORT –GORDONVALE GOLF CLUB 15 Jun 21

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Gordonvale Golf Club and there were 82 players consisting of 69 men & 13 ladies. There was one new member, Cec Turner from HMBGC, welcome back to the Vets Cec. It was very pleasing again to see a good turnout this week and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves regardless of their golf score.

The course was great condition and the weather was absolutely perfect after the early morning fog lifted. Many thanks to Belinda for looking after us all day and all of the greens staff members and volunteers for their efforts on the course.

Our sponsor today was the REEF CASINO “the only place to play” if you feel the need to have a punt or just relax please call into the Reef Casino. Their sponsorship is very much appreciated by all members.

I will leave this ad up for a couple of weeks as we really need assistance to balance our books. We are looking for an authorised auditor to audit our books towards the end of the year as our previous Auditor Harvey Blanche has moved south to be with his family. We are a non-profit organisation and would dearly like assistance as “pro bono” (freebie), Harvey said our books are the easiest records he has ever balanced and it only took an hour of his time for the annual audit of our books. If anyone knows of or is an accredited auditor who could possibly assist us please get in touch with our Treasurer Lois Tait or any member of our committee as our books have to be audited annually.

Next weeks game will be a little different and a fun game of a 2 person Ambrose at Atherton GC and Cazaly`s AFL will be the sponsor. Please do not worry if you do not have a partner as we will team you up with a very good player as all Vets are, hope to see you all there.
