PRESIDENT REPORT –CAIRNS GOLF CLUB 29 Jun 21

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Cairns Golf Club and there were 95 players consisting of 82 men & 13 ladies, a very good rollup today. There were three new members, Trent Bond from Cairns, Geoff Sherman from Leongatha & Daryl Wall from Innisfail GC welcome to the FNQVGA gents, I hope you enjoy the Vets. There were four visitors, Russell Wicks from HMBGC, Abby & Emily McEwan from Atherton and Louise Blanden from Adelaide.

Many thanks to Tim & his crew for the great condition of the course, also thanks to Chloe & Anton for getting us all out on time and looking after us on our return to the clubhouse, masks were not required today but watch this space as Qld is starting to have new COVID cases.

The following is now a plea for auditor`s assistance to the Vets come October. We are looking for an authorised auditor to audit our books towards the end of the year as our previous Auditor Harvey Blanche has moved south to be with his family. We are a non-profit organisation and would dearly like assistance as “pro bono” (freebie), Harvey said our books are the easiest records he has ever balanced and it only took an hour of his time for the annual audit of our books. If anyone knows of or is an accredited auditor who could possibly assist us please get in touch with our Treasurer Lois Tait or any member of our committee as our books have to be audited annually.

Next weeks game will be a single stableford event at Babinda Golf Club and the sponsor will be Golf World. I received an email from Gabrielle (Wal`s daughter) and they are very much looking forward to the Vets game next week and will have a “meat tray” raffle for those interested, your support is very much appreciated by Babinda GC. I hope to see you all there.
