President's Report

99 men & 25 ladies made the most of a lovely cool day to play on a course in great condition. Congratulations to the greens staff.  It was a pleasure to play on a course without getting wet feet or requiring umbrellas, except to provide some shade.

Welcome to visitors Max Bignell of Howlong, Peter Buckman of Yallourn, Peter Stevens of Medway, Vic. & Gloria & Dennis Davis of Nowra.  Welcome also to new members Janine Cowan of Boweraville, Barry Sutherland of Macksville, Victor Lee of Cape Shank & Wayne Hoger of Half Moon Bay, bringing membership for the year to date up to 252.

Thanks to Greg Ferry &  the caterers for looking after us well as usual & to Brothers Leagues Club for sponsoring the day.

Our next games are our Open at Cairns on 30 Jun & 1 Jul.  The field is now full & the starting grid will be posted to this blog in the next couple of days, as well as being sent out to all members for whom we have an email address.  It will also be in the Cairns Post on Saturday.  Anyone belatedly hoping to get a game in on either of those days should ring Capt. Greg who will place them on a reserves list to slot into any gaps created by late cancellations.

If you can't get into our Open, Mareeba golf club have a Vets single stableford tournament on 4 July - $15 entry & carts need to be booked as they are in short supply. Nominations close on 28 Jun & forms are available by contacting the club on 40921528 or by email manager@mareebagolfclub.com.au.
