6. Election of members to the Management Committee 2020/21

7. Appointment of the Honorary Patron, Honorary Auditor, and Honorary Solicitor.

9. Consider any Notice of Motion.

PRESIDENT REPORT –MAREEBA GOLF CLUB 27 Oct 20

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Mareeba GC and there were 76 players consisting of 66 men & 10 ladies. Today was a special day for a special person, it was Gabi`s ??? birthday, congrats Gabi hope you had a great day and even better evening.

The course was in great condition due mainly to Michael Cade`s great work even after he fell in the water whilst getting the pump to work. The greens were the best I have seen at Mareeba for a long time, well done team. Thanks to Gabi and Ken for looking after the Vets as they usually do.

Our sponsor today was Stratford Painting Contractors (SPC), many thanks to Gordon Perry for his continued sponsorship, he even fronted up for a game today, unfortunately Gordo could not stay for presentations as he had to hurry home due to work commitments.

I will keep mentioning the AGM and if anyone is interested in joining the committee in 2021 please see Liz for the nomination form as all nominations will be confirmed at the AGM at Gordonvale on Tuesday 24 Nov 20.

Next week`s game will be a single stableford event at Babinda GC on Monday 2 Nov please don`t let it rain as we missed the previous scheduled game at Babinda due to rain and the sponsor will be Cazaly`s AFL, hope to see you all there.

PRESIDENT REPORT –GORDONVALE GOLF CLUB 20 Oct 20

Hi Members, 

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Gordonvale GC and there were 82 players consisting of 67 men & 15 ladies. There were two new members, Peter Van De Water from Gordonvale and Jack Murray from Cairns, welcome to the Vets guys. 

The course was very dry and firm due to no recent rains but the greens were a massive improvement since our last visit, congrats to the new greenkeeper and his crew, well done and keep up the good work. Many thanks to Dave and Peter for getting the Vets on the move early and also to Tommy Bryce for doing a good job on the whiteboard. 

Some very good scores today (7 x 39pts) as it was extremely hot and sticky but obviously a lot of our members loved the conditions and revelled in it. Another game when the ball run did not go down to the Pres, oh Andrina. 

Our sponsor today was the Drummond Golf, many thanks Darren for your continued support and I am sure our members are recipricating their support back to your business.

President Report & results Atherton GC 13 Oct 20

PRESIDENT REPORT –ATHERTON GOLF CLUB 13 Oct 20 

Hi Members, 

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Atherton GC and there were 76 players consisting of 60 men & 16 ladies. The course was in really good condition and the greens were a lot slower (which was good) than our previous visit and the weather was great. Many thanks to Pup for getting us going early on and to Brendon for the condition of the course. We did miss Cheryl`s smiling face but we heard she is having a good break at Mission Beach.

The changed tees 6 & 7 to 8 & 9 did catch one group out as they played the wrong holes in the incorrect order so unfortunately, they had to be disqualified but they will be all over it next time, everyone else followed the signs and completed the 18 as per the plan. 

Our sponsor today was the REEF CASINO “a great place to play”, many thanks to the Casino and I have just been told that they are sponsoring us again in 2021. Well done to the Reef Casino and I`m sure many of our members visit their establishment on a regular basis.

Atherton GC Tuesday 13 Oct

Members, Atherton GC have made some changes to their course, please note the changes below; Tuesday you will be using our new course layout, we have the new cards printed and tee signs renumbered 1-5 same ,old 8 becomes hole 6 ( where some of you will start) play in same order ,old 17th is new 15th then across to old 6th,new 16th ,up old 7th new 17th then back across road for 18th. It will be interesting to play a different way albeit the holes remain the same just have different numbers attached to them. See you all there and the weather is expected to be great. Regards Robin

PRESIDENT REPORT –CAIRNS GOLF CLUB 06 Oct 20

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Cairns GC and there were 108 very enthusiastic players consisting of 86 men & 22 ladies. We had one visitor, Russell Spencer from Gladstone welcome Russell. Peter and Tessa Meyer are returning home this week after a lengthy stay in Cairns, we hope you enjoyed your stay and we will catch up again next year good golfing to you both.

The course was in really good condition and the weather was just peachy. Many thanks to Tim and his crew for the condition of the course and to Matt and his inside crew for after the game goodies.

Our sponsor today was Stratford Painting Contractors owned by Gordon Perry a Cairns GC member and a good golfer to boot. Anyone considering any sort of paint job please give Gordon a call, he will look after you no matter how big or small the job is.
