PRESIDENT REPORT & RESULTS CAIRNS GOLF CLUB

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event and we had 87 players consisting of 65 men & 22 ladies. There were 2 new members; Warren Berry from HMBGC and Margaret Laas from Cairns GC, welcome to the Vets.

Our sponsor today was Andrina & Doug Christison who very kindly donated today`s prizes, it is fantastic to see members of the Vets chip in to help out when our sponsorship was down for the 2022 Program. Many thanks to Andrina & Doug for their support to the Vets.

Once again the weather was fantastic however, the course is currently undergoing a complete facelift and there are many holes still to be completed but it will be all worthwhile when all the irrigation works are done and dusted. Keep at it Tim you are going great as the amazing scores below reflect how good the course is.

Our next game will be a single stableford event at Innisfail GC sponsored by the REEF CASINO hope to see you all there.

Next Game Cairns GC Tuesday 29 Mar 22

 Hi Members,

The next game is scheduled for Cairns GC on Tuesday 29 Mar 22 and will be a stableford event sponsored by our very own Andrina & Doug Christison.

One of our long time ex committee members John Pilbin is now resigned to playing in a motorised cart therefore, he is selling his beloved buggy with batteries including charger. It is a MGI buggy about 10yrs old with a 10mth old Lithium battery which will last 2 rounds easily there is also a spare battery that will do 1 round. It is not a flash buggy but is very reliable and he is asking $250 ono. Please see John at Cairns to check it out.

Millaa Millaa cancelled Tuesday 22 March

 Hi Members,

I have just been advised that the Tablelands Summer of Golf game scheduled for Millaa Millaa next Tuesday 22 Mar 22 has been cancelled as the course is unplayable due to terrible weather.

The next Vets game will be at Cairns GC Tuesday 29 Mar 22, a single stableford event sponsored by our own Andrina & Doug Christison. Then we play weekly as per the 2022 Program.

Atherton game Tuesday 15 Mar washout

 Members,

Today`s game at Atherton GC was a washout due to very ordinary weather conditions. Many thanks to our dedicated committee (bar myself) for making the trek up the various ranges in dangerous conditions so our members could get a game.  The normal group of "golf trajics" turned up but it was even too much for them so coffee ended up the only way to go.

The next and final Tablelands of Summer game will be at Millaa Millaa next Tuesday with our next game at Cairns GC on Tuesday 29 March and then the weekly program commences for the duration of 2022.

Atherton game on for Tuesday 15 March

 Hi Members,

Although we have had a fair amount of rain in Cairns it has not been that bad at Atherton therefore the game is on. Normal time, single stableford and the sponsor is Cazaly`s AFL.

The Captain Atherton GC has advised that the course is very playable, carts with care, preferred lies and bunkers out of play.

Please take care driving up either of the ranges and have a great day.

Presidents Report & Results Tuesday 1st March Gordonvale GC

 

PRESIDENT REPORT & RESULTS GORDONVALE GOLF CLUB

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a 2 Person Ambrose event and we had 66 players consisting of 54 men & 12 ladies. There were 2 new members; Ian Street & John Slater both from Innisfail GC, welcome to the Vets gents.

Our sponsor today was Stratford Painting Contractors (SPC owner Gordon Perry), many thanks to Gordo and if you have any paint jobs please call SPC and they will look after you.

It was very hot today and the continuous delivery of ice cold water to the players on course was appreciated no end, thanks to Pete at the club for doing this without any prompting from the Vets. Gordonvale Golf Club is heading in the right direction when managers act in this way.

The POS machine is getting closer for use as Lois has completed all of the relevant forms and sent them off to the appropriate provider. Thanks also to Cathie Coverdale as she was instrumental in kicking the POS idea off for the Vets.

The Tablelands Summer of Golf next Tuesday 8^th March is at Atherton GC.

Our next game will be a single stableford event at Atherton GC on 15 March 22 and the sponsor will be Cazaly`s AFL, hope to see you all there.
