 Hi Members,

The next game will be at Gordonvale GC on Tuesday 02 Mar 21 and the event will be a 2 Person Ambrose with the sponsor being Brothers Leagues Club.

For those who do not have a partner don`t be concerned as we will pair you up with someone. For handicap purposes add both handicaps together and then divide by 4 to obtain your handicap for the day and each player must have a minimum of 4 drives each and they are to be marked on the card.

PRESIDENT REPORT –MAREEBA GOLF CLUB 16 Feb 21

Hi Members,

Today`s game was the first game back since our break-up in Dec 20 and it was great to see some old familiar smiling faces back for another round. The game was a single stabelford event at Mareeba GC and there were 67 players consisting of 54 men & 13 ladies. There were five new members; Russell & Lynette Lissa from Gordonvale, Heather Forster (rejoined) & Robert Gray from HMBGC, Tim Mason from Cairns GC & Janeen Smith from Mareeba GC, welcome to the Vets.

The course was in very good condition due to the Cade`s and their team of volunteers, many thanks also to Ken for looking after us today and special wishes go to Gabi from us all, speedy recovery from your operation Gabi and of course the weather was perfect as always at Mareeba.

Our sponsor today was the REEF CASINO who have returned again to support us in 2021. Please drop in to the Casino at your leisure for a meal or try your luck on the tables/pokies to return support back to our sponsor.

The 2021 Program is now complete and on the blog, many thanks to our Secretary Liz for the hard work she has put in to engage with and document all sponsors agreements for 2021.

The new Captain (Russ) thought it was still Christmas and gave out a massive ball run today but things will be back to normal for our next game at Gordonvale GC on Tuesday 02 March.

Next week is the Tablelands Summer of Golf game at Mareeba GC.

Vets return to 2021

 Hi Members,

Welcome one and all to 2021, hope everyone is well rested after the break and ready to play. The 2021 Program is now complete and please note our 1st game back is Mareeba GC next Tuesday 16 Feb and the sponsor will be the Reef Casino.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors for their continued support to the FNQVGA, it is great to see that local businesses are still able to provide support in these trying times.

Normal registration times apply 0645-0800 with 1st tee off at 0700 from both tees. Most membership renewals @ $10 will be required first up. Please ensure that you have your GA handicap for conversion to Mareeba.

You will note from the 2021 Program that HMBGC are omitted from our calendar, it is unfortunate that the HMBGC Committee have decided on a one tee start only which of course makes our day too long, on the plus side other clubs get more games in particular Mossman GC now has 2 extra games and we have included Innisfail for one game this year. 

The FNQVGA will be playing fortnightly from next week until we commence weekly from 30 March as per the 2021 Program on the blog. The Tablelands Summer of Golf Program will be filling in fortnightly until we return to weekly.
