Atherton Cancelled Tuesday 26 Apr

 Hi Members,

The scheduled game for Atherton GC tomorrow Tuesday 26 Apr unfortunately has been cancelled due to torrential rain in the Cairns Region. Apologies to Atherton GC but the decision by the Committee was unanimous as everyone considered the roads extremely dangerous and unsafe to travel.

Lets hope the weather improves and the tragic golfers can get a game in soon somewhere in the Far North.

PRESIDENT REPORT & RESULTS GORDONVALE GOLF CLUB

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event and we had 63 players consisting of 53 men & 10 ladies.

Our sponsor today was Brothers Leagues Club who are a great supporter to the Vets and if you are looking for a place to dine or enjoy their fantastic entertainment please drop in to Brothers Leagues Club.

The weather was absolutely perfect and the course was very good considering that the greenkeeper has only just returned from holidays. Thanks to Pete & Darryl for looking after us throughout the day. Gordonvale GC thanks those members who completed their survey and appreciate your input.

The food van (Bonnies Treats & Sweets) was well supported by the Vets and it will now be in place for all of our games at Gordonvale.

Our next game will be a single stableford event at Atherton GC sponsored by our very own Liz (Secretary) & Pete (V/Capt) Edmonds, hope to see you all there.

PRESIDENT REPORT & RESULTS MOSSMAN GOLF CLUB

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event at Mossman Golf Club and we had 57 players consisting of 41 men & 16 ladies, much rain overnight and early this morning probably the reason for the lower numbers. There was one visitor from Mackay, Mark Henrich, I hope you enjoyed your game with the FNQ Vets.

Our sponsor today was Drummond Golf who are a great supporter to the Vets so if you need any golf gear/lessons please drop in and see the team at Drummonds, they will lift your game!

The weather was fantastic and the course just as good as the weather, a pleasure to play there. We were a little short staffed today due to some medical issues but I would like to thank Liz, Pete & Lois for filling in the gaps, well done team.

FOUND: There was a 52 wedge handed in today so if you have lost it please call or see me next week at Gordonvale GC.

Our next game will be a single stableford event at Gordonvale GC sponsored by Brothers Leagues Club hope to see you all there.

Gordonvale GC are currently conducting a survey within their club in an attempt to improve the course & service. They have asked that if the Vets players would like to be included in their survey, a form is available on request, please offer positive comments if you complete the survey.

Also a coffee/food van (Bonnies sweets & treats) will be operating at the club from 0600 next Tuesday until close of play offering Toasties, Muffins, Sandwiches, Coffee etc etc this should be a win/win all around.

Presidents Report & Results Innisfail GC Tuesday 5th Apr 22

PRESIDENT REPORT & RESULTS INNISFAIL GOLF CLUB

Hi Members,

Today`s game was a single stableford event and we had 61 players consisting of 46 men & 15 ladies. There was one new member, David Barrow from Babinda GC, welcome to the Vets David.

Our sponsor today was the REEF CASINO who are a tremendous support to the Vets and their sponsorship is very much appreciated by all of our members, drop in and play a while you might just win a little.

We were welcomed with open arms by Addy & Jake, the coffee and pastries were an absolute treat and we were spoilt no end, you have set the bar very high now for other clubs to follow. The course was also fantastic, a great testament to your cast of volunteers, well done to you all and the weather just topped off the day at Innisfail.

There was an incident today: player A`s (no names Dave Jackson) buggy went into the water, player B (Bert Smith all the way up from Albury NSW)) helped him get it out and dry it off, player A found his ball and hit it straight into player B`s face, player A ran up to player B and said...... WHERE DID MY BALL GO? Yes it happens on a golf course nowhere else and yes there was blood.

For sale: John Pilbin (0402049046) is selling his MGI (10yrs old) buggy with a 10 month old lithium battery which will last 2 rounds comfortably and a spare battery that will last 1 round, battery charger also included and he is asking just $250 ono a good buy.

Our next game will be a single stableford event at Mossman GC sponsored by Drummond Golf hope to see you all there.
