RESULTS CAIRNS GOLF CLUB TUESDAY 8 JULY.

The largest field this year enjoyed perfect conditions at the Cairns Golf Club this morning. The 93 players (74 men and 19 ladies) were very appreciative of the extra bit of run on the fairways and the ever improving greens which have a nicely consistent surface. Thanks goes out to everyone in the Pro shop  and clubhouse for your assistance today.

We had 5 visitors today, John Burns from Cairns Club, Stephen Jones from Pine Rivers, Peter Clarke  (yes another one) from Future Golf, Gary Clarke from Pacific Dunes and Gary Meek returned from North Rocky. Brian Brown from the Atherton Club has rejoined after a slight hiatus. We also had two new member join today, Grant Turner and Yasuko Moote both from the Cairns Club.Welcome aboard.

A special thank you to our major sponsor Drummond Golf Cairns. Just a reminder that the Drummond Golf vouchers won today have a 30 day lifespan, so get out there and cash them in.

We wish our treasurer Bob Adams a very happy and safe two months holiday, well deserved. Unfortunately Dee Kottnig has resigned from the Management Committee. We thank Dee for the work she has done over the last two years.  And so we are looking for  someone to join the Committee, or just to help out on the Captains table over the next two months. Please make yourself known next week in Gordonvale.

RESULTS INNISFAIL TUESDAY 1 JULY 2025

A perfect day on the Cassowary Coast today, and a beautifully presented Innisfail Golf Course but 52 FNQVGA golfers (43 men and 9 ladies) struggled to come to terms with difficult pin positions, heavy air and a lack of run. Queensland blue couch greens in excellent condition require a different skill set for golfers to come out on top and the ever consistent trio of Keith Schirmer, George and Edna Atkinson show their consistency and resilience to take home the cookies.

Innisfail Golf Club always excels with its hospitality and today was no different. Thanks to the Cockles and bar staff for your help.

RESULTS HALF MOON BAY TUESDAY 17 JUNE.

Early scuds may have tested the first few tee times this morning , but, the day turned out to be a very pleasant one for FNQVGA golfers who played a single stableford in Round 8 in the consistency series. The Yorkeys Knob course is in excellent condition, thanks to all staff associated with its preparation.

A good filed of 42 players (35 men 7 ladies) ignored the weatherman, and reaped the benefit. All grades required the use of the Australian ties system to decide the winners.

WE had three new members join up today, Carl Fox, Greg Althaus and  John King, all from Half Moon Bay- Welcome!

Once again we thank our major sponsor Drummond Golf Cairns. Why not drop in and checkout the new Alfred Street Manunda  location.
