Hi Peter,

As advised previously the Northern Gold Coast and District Vets opens for registration on November 15th, 2025.

Please CLICK HERE to view the event portal, which details all that is happening during the tournament from August 23 to 28, 2026. The golf program and social events during the tournament week ensure a quality experience on the famous Gold Coast and will appeal to golfers and partners alike.

In response to the feedback we have received, an optional Non Playing Partner's Program has been put together which we believe will certainly enhance the Gold Coast experience for the Non Players. Details on the program are under the Social Section or via this link CLICK HERE .

If you have any questions or require more detailed information, please get in touch with the Tournament Director.

All the best, and we look forward to hosting you in August 2026.

Kind regards

Tony Kent

RESULTS CAIRNS GOLF CLUB 4BBB TUESDAY 28 OCTOBER

A super field of 76 saturated FNQVGA golfers (60 men and 16 ladies) battled the heat at Cairns Golf Club to play a 4BBB Stableford on a very well prepared course. Isn't it good to see the number of ladies in the field. Over 42 years ago the then mens only Association was generous enough to invite ladies to play in a mixed 4BBB once a year! How things have changed, and for the better.

We had three new members join today- Romeo Quindoza and Don Park from Cairns Golf Club and Charlie Quarter from Half Moon Bay. Welcome to you all. This brings our membership for the year up to 190.

Nominations for the Management Committee close next Tuesday  4 November. The Association is looking for nominations for Captain and Treasurer in particular. So if you have skills in these departments, or even if you don't, but are willing to learn, contact a Committee member for a nomination form. A recent study has found that learning a new skill will delay the onset of dementia- or at least that's what I think it found.

Next week is at Mossman Golf Club at Newell Beach on MONDAY,  tee off from 8am!

Sponsor is Cazalys.

RESULTS ATHERTON GOLF CLUB TUESDAY 21 OCTOBER 2025

Its a very pleasant vista driving in and through Atherton's Jacaranda lined streets on your  way to the one hundred year old Atherton Golf Course. At this time of year the Jacarandas give off a purplish hue, sometimes called Jacaranda blue and the effect is very inviting. Almost as inviting as the golf links which attracted 57 FNQVGA golfers today(44 men and 13 ladies) to play an individual stableford generously sponsored by Elements Air and Refrigeration. The course has been  excellently manicured by Brendan and his team of skilled volunteers. Congratulations to all involved, including Nikki in the Clubhouse.

We had three new members join today- John Dunne, Mark Johnston and Paul Booth all from Atherton, welcome aboard  and hope to see you regularly on the circuit.

RESULTS GORDONVALE TUESDAY 14 OCTOBER

A good field of 58 FNQVGA golfers (57 men and 11 ladies) benefited from an early start this morning and completed their rounds before the heavier rain took effect. The greens presented a lovely putting surface and this was reflected by the number of good scores. Gordonvale Golf  Club green keeping staff and volunteers seem to be getting things right. Big thanks to Mel and Josh for getting the field off in a timely manner. Mel has informed us that by our next game at Gordonvale it will be necessary to record your drivers licence, address and phone number before hiring a hire cart. Once the system is set up it will become a smooth process. Please be patient.

A reminder that time sheet for the Presentation Day/breakup on 25th November  is in place. If you want your name to be included please message President Peter Clarke (0400529 833) with your gaggle. It will be a shotgun start from 7.30. There are already 60 names on the sheet.

A little bit of trivia!

Last Wednesday the Beerwah Golf Club held a Medley Stableford in sight of the Glasshouse Mountains. The old Bruce Highway, now called Steve Irwin Way, runs along the side of the Course. They had 198 players in their popular mid-week comp. So, with no handicapping on the comp, what was the winning stableford score for 18 holes?

Was it

(A)    56 points

(B)    46 points

(C)    36 points?

To find out the answer be at presentations tomorrow.
