All,
The next game is at Babinda on Tuesday.
It is the final round of the Patron's trophy, but even if you missed playing at Millaa, Babinda is a nice little 9 hole course with some challenging holes, so roll up & have a great day.
Wal Anthony has again donated 3 tables he made for prizes, of different pattern to last year's, which looked fantastic.
Cheers, Louis

President's
Report
We
didn't have as good a field as normal, probably because of the game
being on a Monday to avoid Melbourne Cup, but 85 Men & 18 Ladies
enjoyed a beautiful day with the course in good condition with plenty
of run.
Many
thanks to TGT Hardware for sponsoring the day & to Jenny for the
catering.
Welcome
to visitors Rob Blackman from Maryborough, Fay Hayles of Half Moon
Bay, Gordon Redding & Del Spicer of Mareeba.
Our game
next Tuesday is a single stableford at Babinda, which is the final
round of the Patron's Trophy. Wal Anthony has generously donated tables again for the first prizes, but different models from last year.
As I
will be at the Veteran Golfers Nationals on Mornington Peninsular,
Claud Clark will be kindly standing in for me, ably supported by Colin Johannsen, Col McDowall & Russ Gill, although he may 'volunteer' some others!
We are still looking for someone to act as Treasurer next year, as Col McDowall is standing down after 9 years in various committee positions. As you know, this is a most important position & nominations are required by 13 Nov, ie handed in at Babinda, or sent to my email by midnight that day (lsiedle@gmail.com).
Please give some thought about taking on this job. You will be ably supported by Col & others if you need time off for any reason.

Just a reminder that our next game is on MONDAY at Mareeba (Tues is Melbourne Cup).
I've been advised the course is in good condition & after this dry spell you can bet the greens will be fast.
See you there.

Next Game HMB 30 Oct
All,
Our game next Tuesday is at Half Moon Bay golf club & is sponsored by the club.
I've been advised that the greens were cored a week or so ago & have just been top dressed. Apart from that the course will no doubt be like most in the area, a bit dry with plenty of run to help you into trouble spots you haven't seen for some time!
See you there.

President's
Report
Having just returned from my Rhine cruise I'd like to thank all those committee members who kept things going seamlessly without me, but particularly June who, in addition to her duties as Secretary, managed to get the results out promptly & emailed to me so I could keep the blog up to date & who also continued updating the prize sheets.
We had a
good field of 57 men & 11 ladies for the first round of the
Patron's Trophy, which is contested over the two 9 hole courses we
play during the year.
The course was in good condition with plenty of
run & the greens had some interesting breaks. Congratulations to
the volunteers who maintain the course & thanks to the ladies who
did a sterling job of catering.
The day
was sponsored by FNQVGA.
Welcome
to visitors Fred Cirrani of Millaa Millaa & Fay Hayles of Half
Moon Bay.
Our next
game is a single stableford at Half Moon Bay, sponsored by HMB golf
club.
Look
forward to seeing you there.
