    The Summer that  keeps on giving (more rain!) was unable to discourage  the 42 hardy Vet Golfers who played an  18 Hole Medley Stableford for trophies by Chiropractics Works. 

Atherton Golf Course was once again presented  in exemplary fashion. Thanks to Karl Kraus and his eager team. Thanks to Cheryl in the clubhouse for hospitality.

Our next round of FNQVGA is to be held on Tuesday 18 April at the beautiful Atherton Golf Club on the naturally air condition Atherton Tablelands.  If you know any players who are considering joining vets, give them a ring and invite them to Atherton.

Just a reminder to all members who are in the habit of using a buggy, if you have booked a buggy (especially at clubs with limited buggies) and you are unable to play, please  let the club know: that way they can be offered to players on waiting lists!

A field of 55 players  (45 Men and 10 Ladies) braved the heat and humidity  in Gordonvale this morning  playing a Single Stableford for trophies sponsored by Brothers Leagues Club , Cairns.

Cairns Results Tuesday 4 April 2023

 An apparent temperature of 37.3 C at 11 this morning did its best to test all golfers in Cairns this morning when FNQVGA completed the second round of the Consistency Trophy.

An improving field of 83 players (67 men and 16 ladies) including visitor Dennis Blake from Bribie Island soldered on and returned some impressive scores. 

A special thanks to the Cairns club for their hospitality, and the presentation of the course in this very trying year weather wise.

 Drummond Golf will be the sponsor when FNQVGA  goes to the Cairns Golf Club on Tuesday for the first time this year. We are hoping for a bigger turnout of players this week with the improving weather and drier courses.
