There were 120 Veteran Golfers played at Mareeba today. The weather was great (it doesn’t rain in Mareeba!) the course in good condition, although there were a few green renovations, which we must expect at this time of year.
Thank you Steggles for sponsoring todays event, quite a number of people will be enjoying Steggles Chicken for dinner.
Noelene Massey thought the course was in great condition, scoring 50 points, Congratulations Noelene, a great round of golf!
I would like to welcome visitors Buster Krause and Molly Krause from Coomalla NSW.
We had one new member, Tom Clifford from St Georges Basin, NSW, Welcome Tom!
Next week we are playing at Atherton Golf Club, my reports are that Atherton has not had any where near the rain fall the coast has experienced, the course is nice and green but solid under foot.
The following week 26/10 is at Millaa Millaa Golf Club, it is the first round of the Patrons Trophy, given to the best aggregate scores at Nine Hole Courses.
Then on the Monday 1st November we play at Half Moon Bay Golf Club. This is the only game not played on a Tuesday. The reason being , large numbers of our members like socializing on Melbourne Cup Day, drinking champagne, eating chicken, prawns and having a bet.
