President's Report
We had an excellent rollup of 97 men & 29 ladies to play in the first round of our Championships. The course was in fine condition with well maintained tees & true greens supplemented by a beautiful day. Congratulations to the greens staff & volunteers who have done a really good job.
Thanks to Drummond Golf for sponsoring the day. Thanks also to Raylene, Kay & Peter Mullins & Gordon Redding for preparing the platters of sandwiches for each group, which were very tasty & to Jon for looking after us well as usual.

Because we have had problems with the slope system in dividing the men’s comp into the three grades of the Championships instead of our usual two, we will be reporting & issuing day & overall prizes for men at the end of the second round. Meanwhile the results of the ladies, NTPs & ball rundown are below.
Jon took the opportunity to run a raffle for a golf bag & doz balls. Bob Billingham won the golf bag & Wayne Ivory won the dozen golf balls.
Our next game is the second round of our Championships. It will be played at Cairns & is a stroke round again, with a platter of sandwiches provided for each group after they complete their round. Fortunately, most members seem to have been reading the blog & starters board, so we just had a couple of players disqualified for keeping only stableford scores.
