President's Report
A poor field of 34 men and 8 ladies turned up to contest the last round of the Patron’s Trophy. Perhaps the weather in Cairns dissuaded coastal players from making the trip, which was a pity, as the day, although blustery, was fine & pleasantly cool. The course was in good condition with run on the fairways & some pins had interesting breaks. Congratulations to all the volunteers.
Thanks to Cazalys AFL for sponsoring the day, the ladies who looked after us with raisin toast & cake on arrival before preparing the sandwiches ordered, & Hughie on the bar.
Congratulations to Rod Cade for his hole in one on the 1st & thanks to the club for awarding him an eagles pin & bottle of red. Happy Birthday Capt Greg & sorry we forgot the cake!
Our next game is at Atherton, but if you fancy a weekend on the Tablelands to combine a bit of sighseeing with golf, Millaa have a weekend comp on 8/9 Nov comprising a 4 ball Ambrose on the first day, followed by a stroke round the next. More info from Ross on 4097 2286.
