71 discerning FNQVGA golfers (57 men and 14 ladies) played the Cairns Gold Club at its best this morning in a 4BBB stableford on the Club's "15 out 19 in " course. The only problem was that your scribe only become aware of the course in play when he arrived at the "out of play " 15 hole. Oops! Sorry about that! Thanks to everybody associated with the club, in the Proshop, behind the bar and especially the green keeping staff - you all did very good.
The nominations for the Management Committee close next Monday November 2. We are looking in articular for any members with skills in the Vice-President or general committee department, or even if you dont but are just willing to help, to come forward. It has been suggested that learning a new skill can delay the onset of dementia- by absolutely hours!
Next we we play on Monday (the day before the Melbourne Cup) at the Mossman Golf Course at beautiful Newell Beach. We tee off at 8am with a 4 Tee start. Hot tip for the Cup, a horse trained by Chris Waller or Ciaron Maher.
