Despite rain in Cairns, the weather cleared up at the top of the range rewarding 92 men & 22 ladies who turned up to a course in good condition with plenty of run. Congratulations to the green keeper & volunteers.

Thanks to Raelene & Jon for looking after us in the club, to TGT Hardware for sponsoring the day & for Lorraine Rankin of Australian Hearing for providing the special prize of a Sennheiser Stethoset TV device valued at around $450 to the best overall score of the day. This was won by Garry Castle with 44 points. Well done Garry.

Welcome to new member Peter Marriott of Taroom. Treasurer Di is eagerly accepting membership renewals which are due now.

Our game next Tuesday is at Half Moon Bay & is a single stableford, sponsored by Brothers Leagues Club. I'm told the course is in excellent condition, so see you there.

SHIRTS - June is about to order shirts, so if you want one call her on 4053 2329 asap, as if you miss out on this order you will have to wait till May for the next one. She will need cash for your preorder at next registration.

COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS – Our AGM is coming up at the end of the month & we welcome nominations if you can spare some time. Just copy & paste the form published earlier on this blog, or see June for a copy at registration.

RAFFLE – June is running a raffle over the next couple of games to be drawn at the Xmas breakup lunch. It will be a progressive draw, ie first drawn will get first pick of about 12 donated prizes, second drawn will get next pick & so on. Anyone not present for the draw will get what's left!

Our game next Tuesday is at Mareeba & there is a special prize on offer.

The game is a single stableford sponsored by TGT Hardware, but Australian Hearing, Atherton, have offered a special prize for the best overall score of a wireless Sennheiser Stethoset TV device, valued at $446.

Lorraine Rankin of Australian Hearing will be at our presentations to say a few words & will have brochures available at registration & after as well as answering any questions you may have.  (From the brochure I believe the main advantage of the device is that you will be able to use it to hear the TV better whilst tuning out your relevant other half!)
