The first round of the Drummond Golf FNQVGA Championships was held at the Cairns Golf Club this morning in absolutely ideal conditions. Turquoise sky, gentle breeze, rolling fairways and challenging pin placements seemed to be enough distraction from outstanding scoring. Thankfully the Pump Shed tee on No2 was not in play- the hole is hard enough veteran golfers. We had 70 players ( 53 men and 17 ladies) The Championship standing will follow in a later blog.
A big thanks to the Cairns Golf Club for hosting us and making us feel very welcome.
Get better wishes go out to George Studham and Tim Hollman who have both been unwell over the last few weeks.
